Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga artist Naoyuki Kageyama will launch a new baseball manga called Strike Zone! in the September issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine on Thursday. The manga is being made in collaboration with Japan's 12 Nippon Professional Baseball teams.
The September issue of V Jump will also include a giant Strike Zone! poster as well as the first Net Carddass baseball card of Hayato Sakamoto, the shortstop for Tokyo's Yomiuri Giants.
Kageyama's Yu-Gi-Oh! GX manga is an adaptation of the Studio Gallop anime of the same name, which aired from 2004-2008 in Japan and began airing on television in the United States in 2005. Viz Media began running the manga in its Shonen Jump USA magazine in 2006, and it will release the seventh volume of the series in August.
