The amusement park Universal Studios Japan revealed on Monday that it will open "Sanji's Pirate Restaurant," based on the cook character Sanji from Eiichiro Oda's One Piece pirate manga and anime franchise. The restaurant, which is being remodeled from an existing restaurant in the "San Francisco" area of the park for this year's "One Piece Premier Summer" event, will be open from July 7 through September 4.
The restaurant will open three times every day for 80 minutes each time, and will feature One Piece-inspired food such as Luffy's straw hat bread, soup decorated with a shape similar to Sanji's eyebrows, and desserts for Nami. Characters from One Piece will also appear during the "One Piece Premier Summer" event to perform live shows.
Last December, Fuji TV opened the first official restaurant inspired by One Piece in its Ginza Meza Marche complex in Tokyo. That restaurant just closed on May 31. The restaurant was decorated like the interior of the story's Going Merry ship, and it featured a menu of dishes that appeared in the story.
