K-ON!! voice actress Aki Toyosaki and Di Gi Charat illustrator Koge Donbo* are contributing their talents to Goroawase Rōdoku CD Tsuki Nihon-Shi Marugoto Nendai Anki 180 — a Japanese history study guide with a read-aloud CD which will ship on Tuesday.
The author, Shuei cramming school teacher Gaichi Itou, uses illustrations and Japanese word puns to help students memorize important dates in history. For example, students can remember when the first shogun rose to power by memorizing "i-i-ku-ni" (literally a good country, but also a Japanese pun for the year "1192").
Toyosaki helps students drill through these memorization tips by reading the word puns aloud on the included CD. Koge Donbo* illustrates the front cover of the book.
Chukei, a Kadokawa Group Publishing company, is the same publisher that is releasing this Japanese history guide, the Lucky Star chemistry guide, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya English vocabulary primer.
