In the story, mild-mannered would-be pop musician Soichi Negishi lives a double life in which he is secretly Johannes Krauser II, the foul-mouthed leader of the heavy metal band DMC (for Detroit Metal City). The president of Death Records, which produces the group's albums, terrifies the members of DMC and keeps them in line.
