The official website for the new anime adaptation of The Idolmaster game franchise began streaming a 15-second television commercial on Saturday. In the original Xbox 360 game, the player manages the careers of 10 aspiring Japanese idol singers as a producer. The new anime ties into The IDOLM@STER 2 sequel, which shipped in Japan last month.
The official website for the Hakuōki anime franchise was revamped on Friday with a 62-second streaming promotional video for the new original video anime (OVA) series. The series will feature volumes devoted to the characters Toshizō Hijikata, Sōji Okita, Hajime Saitō, Sanosuke Harada, and Heisuke Tōdō, although the volume order has not been decided yet. The first anime series based on Idea Factory's Hakuōki Shinsengumi Kitan historical romance adventure game for female players aired last year, and the second television series, Hakuōki Hekketsu-roku, premiered in October. The new video series will debut early this summer.
The official website of A-1 Pictures' Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) television anime series also began streaming the anime's sixth television commercial on Sunday. The anime adapts Kazue Katō's Blue Exorcist manga about Rin Okumura (Nobuhiko Okamoto), a boy raised by a famous exorcist named Father Fujimoto (Keiji Fujiwara). Rin discovers he is the son of Satan, and he joins the True Cross Academy to become an exorcist. Tensai Okamura (Darker than BLACK, Wolf's Rain, Kikaider) is directing off scripts supervised by Ryota Yamaguchi (Cutey Honey Flash, Digimon: Data Squad, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars). The anime will premiere in Japan on April 10.
