Manga creator Yoshinori Natsume launched his Togari Shiro supernatural action sequel in the November issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine on October 5. Natsume created the original Togari manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2000, but abruptly ended his work in the magazine in 2002. In the story, a murderer is given a chance to escape Hell after 300 years — if he can hunt down 108 Toga evil spirits in the 21st century with the Togari sword.
Viz Media published the eight volumes of the original Togari run (pictured at right) in North America from 2007 to 2008. Natsume has since drawn the Batman: Death Mask graphic novel for DC Comics in North America. He was previously a designer on Konami's Metal Gear Solid stealth game series.
In the same November issue of Comic Flapper, the artist Aoharu launched a magazine serialization of Aoharu Tetsudō, a gag comedy that anthropomorphizes the stops on the Sanyō, Tōkaidō, and other bullet train lines (shinkansen). An Aoharu Tetsudō book was already published in June. (This manga is unrelated to the Miracle Train manga and anime franchise.)
On November 5, Comic Flapper's December issue will launch the tentatively titled Todoroke! Tekkotsu-kun manga by Makoto Sato (Satorare), German Complex by Takuya Tashiro (Najica Blitz Tactics manga), Hiro Tōge's manga adaptation of the Candy Boy anime, and the tentatively titled Tsuruta-Buchō wa Itsumo Nebusoku by Atsushi Suga.
