Bandai Namco Games has announced at Tokyo Game Show on Thursday that a full-CG anime project will tie into its .hack//Link action role-playing game, which will ship for the Japanese PSP console next February. Bandai Visual will produce the anime. The staffers indicated that the media format will not be a television series. CyberConnect2's video team "sai" is also producing entirely new full-CG animation for the game, but did not provide more details during Thursday's announcement.
The .hack//Link game is intended as the final chapter in the popular .hack franchise. Megane Kikuya (.hack//XXXX) is already serializing the .hack//Link ~Kōkon no Kishidan~ manga in Kadokawa Shoten's Kerokero Ace magazine. Bandai Entertainment has released most of the .hack anime projects in North America, while Tokyopop has published most of the manga spinoffs.
