This year's 21st issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine will announce on Wednesday that a third television anime adaptation of Kôji Kumeta's Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei manga has been green-lit. Zan Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei will premiere on UHF television stations throughout Japan in July. Hiroshi Kamiya, the winner of the Best Lead Actor Award at this year's 3rd Annual Seiyū Awards, will reprise his role as the world's most negative person who happens to teach a high school class.
The first television series aired in 2007, and the second series aired in 2008. Del Rey has been publishing the original, ongoing manga in North America since February. The 15th and 16th Japanese volumes of the manga bundled two original animation DVDs that are separate from the three television series.
